Hey, now!

We have a big announcement and there is really no better way to begin then with those two words above. Hey, now. Hey, nowwww. Hey, now… indeed.

On that weird note let’s get to the beef (puns are always intended) of the matter: this coming Saturday (January 22nd) we will once again be stepping through those proverbial ring ropes with our good buddies and ex-rivals on the Great Food Truck Race, the Nom Nom Truck for a lunch time battle royal.

Let GRILL NOM ALL IV begin! Ring the damn bell!

For those unfamiliar with our history of tag team matches with the Nommers, this will be our fourth time parking along side them for a one-two punch of burgers and banh mi sandwiches and we are returning to the fabled streets of North Hollywood….where it all began. Last time we were in NoHo with the Noms there were intense lines (some waited as long as 3 hours to get a taste of both trucks!), lots of photo opts and a lot of full stomachs. It was considered by some (mostly me) as the Wrestlemania of food truck experinces.

This time the main event is a matinee performance (1pm – 4pm) at the fantastic Other Door Bar (10437 Burbank Blvd) which is our second home and a beer lovers paradise. This is going to be nothing less than a barn burner, a verifiable gastro classic. Don’t miss it.
As always… STAY HUNGRY!

Ghoul.

Definition: One who delights in the delicious taste of gourmet burgers and fries, one who knows how to rip it up and be sweet while never ignoring the mission to take over the world one meal at a time.

We cannot thank you Ghouls enough for an amazing first year of Grill Em All domination. In twelve months we have gone from a struggling burger truck to the champs of the first Great Food Truck Race and we could not have done it without all of you. All hail the GHOUL SCHOOL (get your membership ASAP)!

There’s a lot of big stuff on the horizon; you just have to look beyond the burger haze that floats over the scenic town of Los Angeles, California. The epic Victory Lap video series is about to launch, the BEAST has given birth to her first offspring…SON OF BEAST and we keep racking up the amazing shifts in order to bring you more food for your ever growing bodies.

This week we will be starting our monthly residency at the legendary SPACELAND club in Silverlake (www.clubspaceland.com). We will be parked outside the bar every Friday in the month of January where inside the brutal sludge kings THE MELVINS (www.themelvins.net) will be tearing out your piss poor ear drums and making stoner rock history. We are beyond stoked to team up with Spaceland, The Melvins and Big Business for this most excellent powerhouse of burgers and heavy metal mayhem. Come for the metal and take a break for the burgers!

Also this FRIDAY (1\7) marks our debut in the San Gabriel Valley for the SGV Food Truck Fest (sgvfoodtruckfest.com). We will be there along with a ream of other trucks (just a taste: White Rabbit, Tapa Boy, Butter Milk Truck, Shrimp Guys, Lobsta Truck, Me So Hungry and our beloved brothers and sisters of Lomo Arigato). It all goes down at Speed Zone in the City of Industry and will set you back just $5 to get in. Check the calendar for the address(6-Midnight).

And I’d be a fool not to mention that we have a pretty solid set up of dinners these days too. Catch us at the Other Door (10437 Burbank Blvd North Hollywood) on Wednesday nights and the always amazing Verdugo Bar (3408 Verdugo Road Los Angeles, CA) every Thursday night (8pm – 10pm for both).

Get fed. Grow your body. Take it to the face. Stay hungry. Thank you very much for an unbelievable 2010 and here’s to 2011….the year of Grill ‘Em All (Take 1).

First off I want to apologize for never updating this page. That is going to change soon, promise you that Ghouls.

Since I have blogged last, Food Wars has come and gone from our truck lives. Big thanks to everyone who made it out to the filming in Hawthorne and Santa Monica. I don’t know if it was the ocean breeze or the kegs in the truck but it was a day we shall not soon forget. Like the eagle landing or the crashing shores, it was an epic afternoon.

Also want to say cheers to the Verdugo Bar for hosting a crazy afternoon of booze and truck food last weekend for the first Mobile Mash Up. All the trucks slayed and we had a total blast. Look out for part II coming in the next couple of weeks!

As a lot of my rapper friends say, shit is about to get off the hook. We have a four day weekend of work in Indio this weekend during the Coachella festival. Not the most metal of music festivals but Wacken is too far. There is also some more media projects in the works. You have to admit, we are too pretty not to be getting some attention.

Fuck, Ghouls, this has been a crazy month and it’s just getting weirder. Make sure you check out our schedule on the main page every week to see what we have planned. And, of course, Twitter can be used for evil too…we use that thing every day.

4.10.10

You wanted a war? You got one.

Attention, Ghouls! We have been selcted to go forth into battle on the new Travel Channel series FOOD WARS.
We will be filming for the show for two days next week and we need ALL of you to show up and party with us.

Wednesday, March 3rd, we will be doing lunch with our pals at Century Media Records at their office in Hawthorne, California (2323 El Segundo Blvd). The film crew will be there shooting it all so we need our METAL HEAD friends to show up in full, bullet belted force! The taping will probably start around noon or noon-thirty! Let’s have an old fashioned burger party and blast some death metal!

Friday, March 5th, we will then go into head to head battle against Baby’s Badass Burgers at a location yet to be determined. Stay tuned to find out where and when this burger fight will go down because we need ALL of you guys to come out, have some beers, route us on and make it known who the dominate force in the LA burger truck world is. Come out, party, make noise, be creeps… support your pals at GRILL EM ALL.

This week is going to be super weird but amazing too. Please be a part of it. Got questions… email us thedudes@grillemalltruck.com

See you on video!

Holy crap, things have a way of spiraling out of control. You come up with a cool idea, decide to go ahead with it and see what happens, and then you have a full throttle burger truck on your hands. From that point forward you get no sleep, you gain weight and you use the term ‘Tweet’ the way the common douche uses the term ‘chill.’ That’s how, my main man and co-owner, Ryan and I got here and there’s no f’n way we are looking back unless it’s to say…’yeah, we rule.’

I thought I would update this “news” page more often than I have which means more than once. I used to write a pretty, pardon me, amazing blog (www.blogspot.com/deadtowncleveland) so I know how to go about sucking the reader in and getting them excited about things they really don’t even care about. So, be prepared to be exited, sucked in and then move on to something else… probably sports scores or porn. I do not place judgment or place blame on your future actions.

Ugh…excuse me someone just drove past our apartment listening to some old school Disco song and the metal Gnome who lives inside my heart threw up all over my insides. Sorry, should not happen again.

Even before our launch date we were getting a lot of healthy support from all kinds of people in and outside of the food truck realm but it has been the metal community that has taken this ‘thing of ours’ to the next level. We have had a blast working with the Century Media Family, Nuclear Blast, Relapse, Prosthetic and Metal Blade records. Vacation Vinyl had us out for an in-store show with the mighty Black Cobra (my favorite metal shirt). Decibel magazine published an entire page about us in their epic, national magazine, Tony from Municipal Waste (the band that spawned the Waste ‘Em All and the Witte burger) interviewed us and we even tipped back some free beers with the mighty thrash legends of Exodus. Jealous? Don’t be… it’s not the life you want to be leading. It takes a certain kind of man to be a burger boy.

Case in point: Last month I was doing some quality control in the form of tasting our special that week: the Kreator burger (3 Apple Kraut, Horseradish Aioli, Swiss and Summer Sausage). It ruled, of course. In fact it ruled so hard that I forgot where it ended and my tongue began and I ended up biting a huge chunk of my tongue off. Well, not completely off, it still kind of hung there looking really tough and really, really gross. Further proof that I am one tough dude and, more so, that our food will kick your ass if you do not show it the respect it deserves. Ryan is always pushing the proverbial envelope and creating the most metallic burger creations ever. God bless his taste, genius and strange happiness in making your hunger disappear.

Then there are also the average sixteen hour days, the brutal prep work and the lonely, lonely nights on the road, man. But I’ll take all that shit just to say that I work on a god damn heavy metal food truck. That’s a much better job than the bars, offices and strip clubs I used to work in. Week after week, this has proved to be the most epic journey a metal Viking could hope to travel upon and it’s you, the GHOULS, we owe it all to.

What are you waiting for, wing nut? Come join us; get a burger, fresh cut fries and a Mexi soda. First one to mention this blog post gets a free punch to the gut!

Welcome to Grill ‘Em All Truck! LA’s only heavy metal gourmet burger truck serving gastronomic pleasures of mind melting delight. We are here to seize the burger world in our grasp and make every hungry man and women in Los Angeles an offical Grill Em All GHOUL!

We headed out for the first time last night and had a blast outside of one of our favorite watering holes, the Cha Cha Lounge. It could not have gone better; we want to give thanks to all the new Ghouls who swarmed the truck and all the Cha Cha staff for letting the bar smell of burgers. One night down but a million midnights to go.

The official Grill Em All truck launch is now upon us. This Saturday, December 19th, we will unleash our venom at the Family Industries Opening Party at 1640 N. Spring Street in Los Angeles! It’s going to be an all out rager with bands, live screen printing and, most importantly… US! See you there our beloved Ghouls (9 PM).
